Accessible Cape Town aims to provide reliable, comprehensive, useful access information to disabled and older visitors to Cape Town, South Africa. It should be useful for anyone with reduced mobility, visual impairment, hearing impairment, elderly bones, or any other access need.
It also aims to promote those brave souls who have launched into the world of inclusive tourism: specialist tour operators, forward-thinking service providers who accommodate disabled customers, hotels which have wheelchair accessible rooms and restaurants...
And it aims to promote Cape Town and the Western Cape as a top destination for visitors with disabilities, old bones or any other so-called 'special' need. It is a beautiful city in a fascinating region, and we believe everyone should be able to enjoy it.
This is very much work in progress. There is some information for most of the categories in the left-hand menu, but it is not yet complete. You can find out more about the project in the About & Contact page, and find useful links to local tour operators and access specialists on the Useful Links page.
Another exciting section to browse is Travel Articles. Hilton Purvis generously shares his tips, experiences and contacts on travelling further afield in the Western Cape.
